Losing weight through hypnotherapy is very
different than conventional dieting. A diet is like a never ending
battle between the conscious and subconscious where calorie counting is
a continuous confrontation with the temptations of food. Weight control
through hypnotherapy could not be more unlike dieting because
subconscious cravings are modified and aligned with the positive
choices of the conscious mind. To make a bold metaphor, dieting is akin
to war, whereas weight control through hypnosis is the waging of peace
between the conscious and subconscious minds. The positive change from
negative eating habits to healthful and sensible patterns of eating in
order to lose weight and maintain weight loss, when done through a
program of hypnotherapy, is a wonderfully natural experience compared
with the experiences of most dieters.



My weight-loss program employs a two pronged approach. First, an
attitude of greater awareness in the making of food selections and more
reasonable and sensible and eating patterns are instilled during
hypnotherapy. Second, this greater awareness is combined with direct
suggestions which are targeted at curbing the appetite for culprit
foods which play a particularly negative part in the client’s eating
patterns. Additionally, various anxieties and attitudes that may be
contributing to the weight gain are considered and, if appropriate, are
dealt with during the session. The net result in successful
hypnotherapy is a calmer, more balanced attitude towards eating. Some
clients report a dramatic reduction in food cravings and in the
tendency towards overeating. Others simply have a new awareness of what
they are eating and are able to re-learn healthier eating patterns. The
bottom line about hypnosis and weight-control is this: the goal is the
development of healthier and more weight conscious eating that become a
part of the client’s life. Hypnotherapy in a very real sense helps the
client to become the person he or she wants to be. This is real change,
and when successful these changes should last a lifetime. Of course,
bad habits can always be relearned. Situations that caused the
overeating to occur in the first place can recur in one form or the
other. Accordingly, I recommend that when my weight loss and weight
management program has been completed, the client stay in touch with
herself or himself and when necessary, schedule a session which in
essence acts as a «booster shot» to keep the new, healthy patterns in
tack and on track.

Weight loss hypnosis isn’t about diets. It isn’t about building your willpower to deny yourself the things you want. And it isn’t about wishing or suggesting your problem away.

It’s about genuinely solving the problems that drive your overeating. So you can avoid the diet roller coaster. So you can look forward to keeping the weight off permanently.

Weight loss hypnosis isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach, and there are a number of ways you might be “doing” your food issue. That said, likely you’d go through these stages –

1. Ending your “hunger”
Most approaches fail because they focus on the food. If we work together, we’ll look further back in the “chain” of the problem – to the “hungry” feeling that drives the overeating. That feeling that isn’t physical hunger. That craving/empty/_______ feeling that makes it SO HARD for you to eat the healthy way your body would like you to. We’d use hypnosis to get to the root of that feeling and get it resolved.

2. Ending the habits
For many clients, once the emotional drivers to the problem have been addressed, the problem habits resolve on their own. You’d likely find that once you’re no longer compelled to overeat, eating healthy becomes easy because it’s not a battle anymore. If you had any remaining bad habits, we’d address them directly. Once the emotional “hunger” feelings have been resolved, eliminating any remaining habits is usually pretty easy.

3. Follow up
I like seeing clients after the weight loss hypnosis work has been done.  That way, if the client has any issues with maintaining their ideal weight,  we’re able to get them resolved before any backsliding happens.

I think any time people see “rave reviews” on a web site like this, the question arises, “how do I know they’re real?”
Bottom line is, you don’t. Since this work is therapeutic and often deals with deeply personal issues, I don’t supply e-mail addresses or phone numbers for my former clients. That said, I can tell you that I collected them from –

– emails sent during the course of the work and in response to my later follow-ups
– voice mails (transcribed) left in response to my follow-ups on the work
– online reviews posted at sites like Google, Yelp, etc.
Some of the quotes came spontaneously.  Others I’ve asked for at the end of the work when clients have said they’re very happy with what they’ve achieved.  Some clients requested their names be changed for privacy, but the actual content is word-for-word accurate.  To the best of my knowledge, every quote on the site and on the review sites around the web is true. The only distinction I’d make is in several quotes where clients have given me the credit – it’s always the client who deserves the credit.  Basically I’m a guide.  I’ve helped them do the work, but the clients are the ones who did the work to achieve the results.
And yes, I do get emails from clients who haven’t been successful (fortunately there are a lot fewer of those).  While I don’t use them on the site, I’m happy to talk about them if you ask.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool to help clients overcome challenging issues such as anxiety, phobias, pain management, hot flashes and more. Hypnosis is also a way to help let go of addictions like smoking, overeating and gambling. In and of itself, hypnosis is not a therapy, but it can be used in conjunction with therapy to empower and encourage the person receiving it to make positive change. Some people are more susceptible to hypnosis and will benefit more from hypnotherapy than others.

According to Dr. Clifford N. Lazarus, speaking for Psychology Today, hypnosis is a “genuine psychological phenomenon that has valid uses in clinical practice … hypnosis is a state of highly focused attention or concentration, often associated with relaxation, and heightened suggestibility. While under hypnosis (i.e., in a hypnotic trance), it seems many people are much more open to helpful suggestions than they usually are.” The suggestions made in a therapeutic setting get deep into a person’s brain, beyond their conscious thinking, leading to behavior change and the ability to overcome challenges that might otherwise seem insurmountable.
