If you crave a little more adventure in your life, ziplining can enable you to feel the freedom of flight by sliding down strategically place wires hung between trees. This type of ride allows you to feel the exhilaration of gliding through the canopy in a safe, secure way.

Georgia offers many nearby ziplining excursions to make it easy for you to catch a ride through the trees whenever you need a little pick me up.

At Historic Banning Mills, you’ll get to choose from six ziplining levels, from a 1 hour tour to over 8 hours of all day zipline fun. Holding the Guinness World Record for having the longest and largest zipline canopy tour, the Screaming Eagle Zipline covers almost 10 miles of line and takes you through some of the most beautiful old growth forests in Georgia. With its Closed Belay System, the Screaming Eagle Zipline provides you with a safe and secure ziplining experience.

Learn about the forest life around you as you glide through the trees at North Georgia Canopy Tours. Their certified and eco-trained zipline guides take you through your choice of a 2 hour or 3 hour zipline tour while sharing information about the forest habitat, wildlife and history about the local culture and community. On your tour, you have the option to rent a GoPro camera for an additional $35 to record your experience.

At beautiful Lake Lanier Islands in Buford, you can choose from multiple zipline options. The first option includes a shorter 1 hour canopy tour that takes you over four lines and one sky bridge, and the longer option includes a 3 hour tour that takes you over 14 lines and across the water.

Ziplining at Nacoochee Adventure involves much more than just gliding through the trees. You can choose from four different tour options which take you up 70 feet in the air and over one of the longest ziplines in the country. Tour lengths range from 30 minutes to 2 1/2 hours. Some of these adventures also include a guided tour of an actual 1800’s gold mine, a nature hike and a visit to a bear cave.

Zipline Canopy Tours of Blue Ridge. Prices range from $49 to $89 per person. 891 Old Cashes Valley Road, Blue Ridge. 800-251-4800. www.zipblueridge.com.

Choose from two different zipline options including a 1 hour tour for people who just want to try it out, to 2 1/2 hours that takes you across 13 lines and three sky bridges. After your tour, stick around and have fun at the Aerial Adventure Park, which includes a challenging obstacle course with tight ropes, suspended bridges, ziplines and climbing walls.

Zipline Canopy Tour at The Sandbar. Prices range between $49 and $79 per person. 3435 King Hall Mill Road, Bowman. 706-245-4163. www.thesandbarbroadriver.com.

At The Sandbar, you’ll choose between two ziplining options, either a five or 10 line tour, that will take you through forests, up to the tree canopy and over Mill Shoal Creek and Broad River. While flying through the air with the greatest of ease, you will also get a chance to see the gorgeous waterfalls at Mill Shoal Creek.

Is there an age limit?

  • Yes. Participants must be 10 years of age. 
  • Additionally, we ask that everyone is in good physical condition. 

Is there a weight limit?

  • Yes. All participants must be at least 70 pounds and not more than 250 pounds. 
  • We will weigh our guests if necessary.

How long is each zipline course?

  • We offer the 1 Hour and 2 Hour Tour. 
  • The 2 Hour Tour consist of over 6,000 feet of cable! You go on 13 zips ranging from 250 feet to 1000 feet and 3 sky bridges. You’ll zip through treetops ranging from 25 feet to 75 feet high. 
  • The 1 Hour Tour is simply half of the longer tour, but still gets great reviews as well! 

What are the ticket prices?

  • 1 Hour Tour: $49.99 Tax
  • 2 Hour Tour: $89.99 Tax
  • We offer group rates for groups of 10 or more on select days. Discounts are not offered on Saturdays.

What should I bring and wear?

  • Shoes: We require everyone to wear closed-toe shoes, such as hiking or running shoes. Sandals are not allowed. 
  • Shirt: Must cover full back and shoulders. No tank tops or bathing suits. 
  • Pants: Comfortable but not too short. Mid thigh shorts, capris, or long pants are best. 
  • No jewelry, scarves, or other items that could get caught in a cable are allowed. 
  • Keys, cell phones, and wallets should not be taken. You’re welcome to leave your keys in our office before your trip. 

What happens if it rains?

  • We run our trips rain or shine. If we do not call you, the trip is going. 
  • Even if there is bad weather where you are, that does not necessarily mean there is bad weather at our office. 

When do you offer zipline tours?

  • Tours are offered all year, but only select days in the off season. 

  • Call our office at 800-251-4800 or visit our Zipline Calendar for availability. 

Will there be photos taken?

  • During our busy season photos are taken, but we do not guarantee that they are taken on every tour.

What time should I arrive for my trip?

  • Our check-in time is the trip time. However, if you want to arrive 10-15 minutes early that is fine. We do not recommend that you arrive any earlier than 15 minutes prior to your trip time. It is always better to be early rather than late, due to the fact that we do not delay our tours. 
  • For example, if you purchased tickets for a 12:30 tour you can arrive between 12:15 and 12:30. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you will have missed your tour and all payments will be forfeited.  

Do you need previous experience?

  • No. Two guides are on each tour that will send and receive the guests on each zipline.

Are reservations required?

  • Reservations are highly recommended, because we fill up quickly and if you do not make a reservation you will not be guaranteed a spot.  

Forest Tour ( Level 1): You will experience one sky bridge and 9 shorter zip lines which range from 250 ft to 650 ft in length and heights up to 60ft. We allow a minimum weight of 50lbs on this tour but to continue to the other tours, a guest must weigh at least 90 to 100lbs minimum. Maximum weights: ladies under 250lbs and guys under 285lbs. Cost is $49 per person. We do not allow discount/coupons on this tour.

Pattern Tour (Level 2): You will finish the Forest tour and continue on. There is one 65 ft tower, three more zip lines with two that are 1000 feet in length and up to seven to eight cable and wood sky bridges with amazing views. You will be at heights from 65 ft to 200 feet in the air. Cost is $79 per person

Pattern Plus Tour (Level 3):  You will finish the Pattern tour and continue on: There will be a total of two 65 ft towers, 15  zip lines including our high-speed Big Daddy zip line that goes down the gorge and our Swoop line that takes you right along the beautiful, rushing Snake Creek. There are also up to 8 to 9 cable and wood sky bridges. Our guests can hit speeds of up to 60mph! You will be at heights of 65 to 200 feet in the air. Cost is $99 per person

Extreme Tour (Level 4): This is the ultimate in zip line canopy tours! You will experience both the pattern and pattern plus tours (excludes the Swoop line) and then continue on to the high, extreme bridges that criss-cross back and forth over the Snake Creek Gorge at heights up to 100 feet. This is a true adrenalin rush! Then you will go on to the amazing Sky Trek bridge that is 600 foot long and 170 feet above the gorge. End with four more long and fast zip lines which includes the Screaming Eagle half mile long zip line! Cost is $149 per person.

All Day Rush Tour (Level 5): You get all the above plus our NEW Ridge Runner tour and the Aerial Challenge trek: the Terminator and the 100ft Free Fall. The Ridge Runner is the ultimate zip line. You step off the Screaming Eagle tower and hurdle down through a tunnel of trees. Before you realize it, you are at one of the ridges of the gorge and are suddenly shot out into the open air. This is a 1/2 mile long zip line that will surely get your heart racing and a big smile on your face! That is up to 40 zip lines and 42 sky bridges. Nothing twice, unless you want to and have time.Tour times start only in the morning and price includes a full lunch back at the main lodge! Cost is $249 per person. Price includes lunch. No discounts allowed on the Level 5 tour.

Banning Mills (our headquarters) was one of the first zip line courses in North America. We have years of experience and our guides are all CPR, Wilderness First Aid, and High Ropes Rescue trained. We meet and exceed all ACCT and PRCA guidelines. Our course is constantly checked and rechecked as well as inspected by an outside ACCT certified inspector. You will not find a safer or more experienced zip line canopy tour course in the USA!

This is not a requirement, but our guides work veryhard to give you a safe and fun tour. Any tip you would like to give is greatly appreciated! Many of the guides are college students!

We take Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards. Your card will be charged at the time of the reservation for the full amount.  Cash payment option available. If you wish to pay with cash, it must be prepaid in order to make the reservation. We do not take personal checks.

If you have 10 or more guests that want to come as a group, we give 10% off the regular tour rates. Groups must make one payment and not individual payments. Whomever books the group will be responsible for the group payment. You must get your group to reimburse you. Please remember that you will be charged for cancellations within the cancellation period and no shows.

We are an extreme outdoor adventure opportunity. You’ll be amazed by how comfortable our guides can help you feel at height. We do understand, however that sometimes people are not ready to overcome their fear of heights and choose not to participate in the tours. Unfortunately, we are not able to rebook the slot. The guest will be charged the price of the first tour only.

DO NOT wear sandals, flip flops, open toed shoes or shoes without a back! Do NOT wear shoes with the toes in them (five fingered shoes are a no no).  If you do, you will NOT be allowed onto the tour and you will be charged for the tour even though you don’t go!!!
If you have long hair, wear it in a pony tail. Do not wear short shorts or shirts that are strapless. This is due to the gear that you will be putting on. And yes, you must wear a shirt, preferably with sleeves!

Make sure you have deep pockets or pocket with a zipper or Velcro type closure if you will be bringing keys, wallets or anything else you do not want to lose. If you do lose it at 200 ft, you will most likely not get it back!

You can bring a camera. Just make sure it has a wrist or neck strap on it. Yes, you can wear a fanny pack or light weight back pack.

Please arrive 30 minutes BEFORE your tour time.  If you are late, you will not be able to go out on your tour and you will be charged in full for each slot scheduled. We can’t delay the tour because you are late. This is not fair for our on time guests. We can not guarantee you a spot on any other tour either. Please plan your travel time wisely and remember any time zone changes.

Yes, Yes, Yes.  We fill up quickly and if you do not make a reservation  you will not be guaranteed a spot on the tours. We will do our best to fill tours with walk-ins, but reservations will guarantee we have a spot for you on the tour!

For individual reservations, you must cancel 7 days BEFORE your reservation date and for group reservations, you must cancel 14 days BEFORE your reservation. If you cancel outside the cancellation policy, your card will be refunded the full amount minus a $20.00 processing fee. If you need to cancel within your cancellation period,  your card will keep a 50% charge plus a $20.00 processing fee with the balance refunded to the card used to make the reservation. No shows and day of cancellations will not be issued a refund.

We will go out in rain. If there are very heavy and prolonged rain storms, severe thunderstorms with lightening, severe cold or icing, Banning Mills will call each scheduled guest to cancel the tours. Please remember, if we do not call you, that means the tour is a go. Even if there is bad weather where you are, that does not necessarily mean there is bad weather at Banning Mills. Sometimes tours may be delayed for a short time for “pop ups”. Please keep this in mind when planning your day.

You must be at least 8 years old for the Level 1 tour.  You must be 10 years old to continue on to the other tours. The minimum weight is 50 lbs for the Level 1 tour only. To continue on to the other tours, a guest must weigh at least 90 lbs minimum. We reserve the right to weigh anyone we think may be over the weight limits.

The maximum weights we allow are:
Ladies: under 250 lbs
Gentlemen: under 285 lbs
You must be able to climb two 65-foot towers and a 100-foot tower. You need to have good balance capabilities, be able to walk on uneven terrain, and have full range of motion in your upper and lower extremities.

You must be able to control your speed of travel along the zip lines by resting your gloved hands on the pulley and cable systems. It is required that you are able to understand verbal instructions and to pull yourself along cables  in case you lose momentum before reaching any said platform. You must be able to see our guides and recognize hand motions.

This is not recommended for those with moderate to severe heart and/or respiratory difficulties, recent surgeries, second or third trimester pregnancies or those with moderate to severe musculo-skeletal problems. This is considered a moderate to heavy physical workout!

FUN, FUN, FUN!!! You will begin gear up where you’r guides will teach you about zip lining and all you’r safety equipment and given a 30 minute instruction session. Then your guides will take you up the tower and start your tour.

Our staff is professionally trained and care about your safety very much. If we do not allow you to participate, please do not take it personal, your safety is our #1 priority.

Banning Mills {amp}amp; Screaming Eagle Aerial Adventures at Unicoi State Park reserve the right to refuse anyone access to the tours if we feel it would be unsafe for them, our other guests or our staff. Some examples of someone we might turn away would be a guest under the influence of drugs or alcohol, someone who is over the weight limits, someone that will not or can’t understand or obey the rules, and those who are  physically unable to do a zip line canopy tour. We do everything in our power to get guests out on a tour and give them safe access to our tours. However, Banning Mills and their staff will have the final say on any participant going out or continuing on a tour.

You will be required to sign a liability release form before going out on the tour. If you would like for us to email a copy to you, just call or email us your request. Minors must have a parent our guardian to sign this form. The minor must sign the waiver also. Again, we can email this form to you so that you can bring a signed copy with you. Just ask us!

A: Ages 10-15 (inclusive) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.  Zip tour riders must be willing and able to operate the equipment on their own as each zip tour rider will ride each line independently.

A: All participants must complete a Release of Liability prior to beginning the adventure.  A signature from a parent/guardian is required for all participants under the age of 18.  If a minor is coming to Daredevil Ziplines without a parent/guardian, the liability release must be signed and notarized.  Liability releases can be downloaded off the website.
